2000-2005

This series of paintings is a tribute to my newly adopted home country, where vibrant colours and shapes are infused with a unique sense of humour. The works capture the brightness of feelings and spirit I encountered in the people, echoing the naivety and spontanaity of Australian art from the mid-20th century. It's a nod to the artists who made their mark on the world with their distinctive styles and perspectives, amongst world's already elevated and celebrated 'art/isms'.
